Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Social media posts circulating on Facebook claiming that President Prabowo Subianto plans to cancel moving the national capital and convert the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) into an Indonesian Military (TNI) headquarters have been confirmed as false.
The viral post was accompanied by claims saying that President Prabowo rejected plans to relocate the capital to IKN and intended to change the whole development project into a military base.
Fact-checking investigations revealed that while the TNI had previously announced plans to establish a military headquarters within the IKN region to secure the area, this does not mean converting the entire capital city project into a military complex.
Furthermore, there are no official statements or credible evidence indicating that President Prabowo intends to cancel the relocation of the national capital. On the contrary, official statements confirm President Prabowo's commitment to advancing IKN, with targets set for it to serve as Indonesia's political capital by 2028.
