The Jordanian family consisted of a 25-year-old man known as AS, his 21-year-old wife, FA, and their toddler, as reported by antaranews.com.
This family was taken into custody after a photo of them begging circulated on Instagram. The picture showed them seeking alms with their toddler in a stroller, with both parents approaching passersby, including foreign tourists.
According to the findings of the Immigration Ngurah Rai, the Jordanian family resorted to begging due to running out of funds while on vacation in Bali since September 30, 2023. Their Visa on Arrival (VOA) is valid until October 29, 2023.
Records from the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights showed that a total of 236 foreign nationals were deported from Bali between January and September 2023. These deportations were due to various violations, including the misuse of stay permits, overstaying, involvement in criminal activities, and breaches of Indonesian laws and regulations.
