Immigration services on the VFS Global website will start operating in December 2024 or before the end of year holiday season.
Director General of Immigration, Silmy Karim, said that this collaboration is to increase the interest of foreign nationals to visit Indonesia. This is because Immigration has implemented online-based services to facilitate foreigners' access to obtaining visas.
"VFS Global's network of collaboration with airlines allows foreign nationals to buy plane tickets and obtain visas at the same time, for example on the Emirates airline platform. I hope that similar collaboration can be established with Garuda Indonesia to further facilitate the process of traveling to Indonesia," he explained on Wednesday (10/16/2024).
On this occasion, he said that his party had implemented digitalization of electronic visas that can be applied online, with payment using a credit card. In addition, digitalization of electronic visas can also pass through the autogate at Indonesian Airports.
"The Directorate General of Immigration offers the latest digital solutions that improve the experience for foreign nationals who want to visit Indonesia. In collaboration with VFS Global, it contributes to increasing the arrival of foreigners," he said.
Meanwhile, VFS Global CEO, Zubin Karkaria, said that his party was very happy to be able to provide electronic visa services for Indonesia. The reason is, Indonesia is a very popular destination for travelers around the world.
"We are honored to partner with the Directorate General of Immigration for this online service. The new option for submitting a visa through the VFS Global website will improve the visa application experience, so that it can encourage the use of digital platforms," he explained.
VFS Global is a multinational company that helps with visa processing. This company has a strong network, including visa processing for European countries or Schengen visas.
