inp.polri.go.id - Yahukimo. The 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force continues its investigation into a series of armed violence cases that occurred in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains. Based on the results of a number of security operations last week, authorities uncovered the involvement of several individuals in various shootings and murders from 2023 to early 2026.
The Head of Public Relations for the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force, Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo, stated that one previously unidentified individual, Meno Kogoya, has now been confirmed as involved in several violent crimes. He also stated that three individuals had previously been identified as having committed crimes, but after intensive investigation and based on other evidence, these three individuals' actions were later identified as having committed other crimes.
"Based on the results of the investigation, Meno Kogoya was involved in the murder of two gold miners on September 20, 2025, the shooting of a Hilux Armored car on September 22, 2025, the shooting of a white Avanza on December 29, 2025, and the shooting of a Hercules aircraft on January 14, 2026," he said in a doorstop to the media (3/2/2026).
In addition, authorities also identified three other perpetrators who had been involved in other crimes. Among them was Kotor Payage, also known as Kotoran Giban, whose case has been transferred to the Papua Regional Police. He is suspected of involvement in the shooting of a white Strada car in March 2024, the shooting of Sergeant Segar Mulyana on June 16, 2025, the shooting of a white Avanza on December 29, 2025, the shooting of a Hercules aircraft at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport on January 14, 2026, and the shooting of a box truck at Kilometer 7, Logpon, on January 30, 2026.
Another name mentioned is Enage Heluka, who is suspected of being involved in the video recording of a statement after the shooting on February 12, 2026. Meanwhile, Homi Heluka has been listed as having a longer series of alleged involvements, including the burning of a police car on Statistics Street in 2023, the murder at Kali Silet on February 11, 2024, and the shooting of a truck driver on Logpon Street on February 12, 2026. The victim in the latter incident reportedly survived and received medical treatment at the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Papua Regional Police.
According to Yusuf, this disclosure is the result of an intensive and ongoing investigation and inquiry process carried out by the joint team.
Responding to these developments, the Head of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that his team will continue to enforce the law firmly and decisively against any perpetrators of armed violence who disrupt security and stability in Papua.
"We are committed to resolving every case of violence that disturbs the community. Law enforcement will be carried out professionally, proportionally, and evidence-based to provide legal certainty and ensure a sense of security for residents," he emphasized.
