Inp.polri.go.id - Manado. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed on Saturday (11/4/2026) that the government will not increase the prices of subsidized fuel (BBM) and 3kg LPG canisters despite ongoing geopolitical volatility in the Middle East.
"The government is committed to maintaining current price levels for subsidized energy as we actively seek strategic solutions to ensure national economic stability," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Following directives from President Prabowo Subianto, the Ministry is prioritizing energy self-sufficiency by reducing reliance on imports, which currently cover over 59 percent of national demand.
National stocks remain secure, with fuel reserves sufficient for 20 days and LPG for 10 days. Minister Bahlil emphasized that empowering domestic natural resources is the primary path toward closing the gap between Indonesia's 1.6 million barrel daily consumption and its 600,000 barrel production capacity, ensuring long-term energy security for the public.
