Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State-owned mining holding company MIND ID announced ambitious plans to significantly ramp up production of coal, nickel ore, and bauxite in 2026 to solidify its long-term industrial foundation.
"The year 2026 serves as a crucial base for our long-term objectives, focusing on stabilizing production volumes while enhancing the sustainability of all commodities," said Maroef Sjamsoeddin, the President Director of MIND ID, on Monday (13/4/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.
During a hearing with House Commission XII, he revealed that bauxite production is projected to jump 89% to 5.3 million wet metric tons (wmt). Nickel ore is expected to rise by 33% to 24.4 million wmt, while coal output from PT Bukit Asam is targeted at 49.5 million tons.
This aggressive expansion was taken after a strong 2025 performance, where the holding company recorded Rp 159 trillion in revenue. The 2026 strategy prioritizes domestic resource optimization and portfolio adjustments to ensure Indonesia remains a dominant player in the global mining sector.
