Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto announced Indonesia’s commitment of USD 30 million to support World Health Organization (WHO) programs during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Tuesday.
“We are ready to contribute USD 30 million to help close funding gaps for WHO initiatives,” Prabowo said in a video statement released by the Presidential Secretariat on Wednesday (20/11/2024).
He expected that the funding would enhance WHO’s efforts and encourage other G20 nations to strengthen their support, according to antaranews.com
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, who joined the summit, revealed that President Prabowo met WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to discuss global health challenges.
“President @prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to supporting WHO’s work in building fair and quality health systems,” she said in her Instagram account.
In his address, President Prabowo also emphasized the need for G20 countries to unite advanced and developing economies to tackle global issues through transparency, inclusivity, and consensus.
