Indonesia-France Agrees on 21 Cooperations from Defence Relations to MBG

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and France have agreed on 21 cooperation in various fields, including military and defense, to free nutritious meal programs carried out between governments, institutions, and private partnerships.

In a ceremony held at the Merdeka Palace, 21 agreement documents were signed, shown, and announced in the presence of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron, marking a strong commitment to deepening strategic partnerships across sectors.

"In various fields, our relationship is getting closer, namely the energy transition, food security, free nutritious meals (MBG). Also in the maritime sector, Indonesia will be present with a special envoy at the UN Ocean Conference, the third United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, France, next month," said President Prabowo in a joint press statement at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/28/2025).

The two heads of state witnessed the signing and appointment of agreement documents covering joint declarations, intergovernmental cooperation (G-to-G), inter-institutional cooperation (P-to-P), private partnerships (B-to-B), and the announcement of cooperation between central banks.

President Prabowo and President Macron first adopted four joint declarations that reflect the common long-term vision of the two countries, as well as joint contributions to world peace and culture.

The four declarations include, first, the Joint Declaration for the Development of the Indonesia-France Strategic Partnership until 2050 (Joint Vision 2050).

Second, the Joint Declaration for the Strategy in the Field of Culture between Indonesia and France; third, the Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestine Issue and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.

Finally, the Joint Statement between the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the President of the Republic of France.

In addition, 11 official agreements were signed on the occasion, consisting of 10 G-to-G agreements and one P-to-P agreement.

As part of the announced agreement, Bank Indonesia and Banque de France also agreed to cooperate.
