Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has officially begun implementing the UNESCO Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) for Artificial Intelligence (AI), a comprehensive framework designed to measure a nation’s readiness to adopt AI technology ethically and responsibly, marking a significant step in aligning Indonesia’s digital transformation with global humanitarian principles.
The Deputy Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Indonesia to UNESCO, IGAK Satrya Wibawa, emphasized that the RAM AI is a vital instrument for balancing innovation with ethics.
"Through RAM AI, we can map Indonesia's readiness across various sectors, including regulation, human resource capacity, and data governance," he said during a webinar on Tuesday (5/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com..
The methodology ensures that technological growth does not compromise data security, digital cultural protection, or media literacy.
Satrya further highlighted that UNESCO provides a wealth of resources to support this transition, with over 250,000 open documents available via the UNESCO Digital Library (UNESDOC). These resources, alongside the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report, serve as primary references for data-driven national development.
