Inp.polri.go.id - Nakhon Ratchasima. Indonesia ended the first day of the 2026 ASEAN Para Games in second place, amassing a total of 36 medals by Wednesday night (21/1/2026).

The contingent secured 14 gold, 13 silver, and 9 bronze medals, trailing only the hosts in the standings. Para-cycling standout Nurfendi delivered Indonesia's first gold in the Men's B Time Trial, setting a winning pace of 41:59.763, as reported by antaranews.com

Para-swimming emerged as the primary gold mine, contributing seven titles, including a record-breaking performance by Mutiara Cantik Harsanto in the Women's 100m breaststroke SB9.

Para-athletics and para-cycling added three golds each, while para-powerlifting secured one. This broad success across pools, tracks, and roads positioned Indonesia as a formidable contender for the overall championship as the games progressed through the week.
