inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Health Ministry signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Bilateral Health Cooperation with two African countries, Sudan and Zimbabwe.
The signing was carried out on the sidelines of the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) Summit in Bali. The Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim Awadalla led the cooperation signing of Indonesia and Sudan.
“I hope this cooperation between Indonesia, Sudan and Zimbabwe can strengthen our relationship with the two countries and push the cooperation with other African countries,” says the Health Minister on Wednesday (9/4/2024).
According to the Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Sudan has a great relationship in pharmaceuticals with Indonesia compared to other African countries. This makes Sudan interested in improving their capacity with the support from Indonesia.
On the other hand, the signing of bilateral health cooperation between Indonesia nad Zimbabwe was led by Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Zimbabwe's Minister of Women, Community and Small and Medium Enterprise Development Monica Mutsvangwa.
The scope of Zimbabwe's health cooperation, said the Minister of Health, includes primary health services, secondary services, and health system resilience, including public health emergency preparedness and response and the development of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.
The cooperation is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, encourage economic growth and sustainable development, and increase market access for Indonesian pharmaceutical products and medical equipment to Sudan, Zimbabwe, and other African countries.
