Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified on Saturday (14/2/2026) that Indonesian personnel deployed to the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza will not engage in combat operations.
Guided by UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025) and Indonesia’s "Free and Active" foreign policy, the mission is strictly humanitarian.
"Indonesian personnel will not be involved in combat operations or any actions leading to direct confrontation with armed parties," the Ministry confirmed in an official statement as reported by antaranews.com
The government has established binding "national caveats" to ensure the mission focuses solely on civilian protection, medical aid, reconstruction, and training the Palestinian Police.
Deployment is contingent upon Palestinian authority approval and remains restricted to the Gaza Strip. The Ministry said that use of force is permitted only for self-defense as a last resort. Crucially, Jakarta maintained that participation in the ISF does not constitute any form of diplomatic normalization with non-Palestinian parties involved in the conflict.
