Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on India and Pakistan to de-escalate tensions and resolve their conflict through dialogue following exchanged missile strikes amid rising hostilities.

“Indonesia is closely monitoring the situation and urges both sides to exercise restraint and prioritize peaceful dialogue,” it  posted on its official X account Wednesday (7/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The ministry also advised Indonesian citizens in India and Pakistan to remain alert and avoid affected areas or potential conflict zones.

India claimed its missile strikes targeted known terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistani-controlled Kashmir. The Indian Embassy in Jakarta said that the attacks were “measured, precise, and aimed solely at terrorist camps, avoiding civilian or military targets.”

In response, Pakistan reported eight deaths and 35 injuries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, vowing a “proportionate response” and calling it a “cowardly act of war.” The clash follows a recent attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26.
