Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and Vietnam have set a bilateral trade target of $18 billion by 2028, strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

"We agree to achieve an $18 billion bilateral trade target by 2028," President Prabowo Subianto said during a joint press conference with Vietnamese Communist Party Secretary-General To Lam on Monday (10/3/2025).

The partnership is now elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, enhancing cooperation across various sectors.

Three agreements were signed: fisheries industry collaboration, engineering and digital economy training, and central bank cooperation between both nations.

“We aim to strengthen cooperation in nearly all sectors—politics, economy, defense, security, education, and science—to align with economic integration,” President Prabowo added, as reported by antaranews.com.

The two countries have maintained diplomatic relations for 70 years since 1955, with both leaders committed to deepening ties further.
