This appeal was delivered following the increasing tension in a number of locations in Los Angeles related to protests against the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policy.
"In connection with the developing situation in Los Angeles and its surroundings, we appeal to all Indonesian citizens to be more careful and avoid areas that have the potential for clashes or demonstrations," wrote the Indonesian Consulate General in Los Angeles, Tuesday (6/10/2025).
Indonesian citizens are also asked to stay away from crowds if there are indications of clashes in order to avoid security risks.
"Be aware of vulnerable areas, especially in areas around the city center or locations that are often used as demonstration sites related to immigration policies".
In addition, Indonesian citizens are advised to always carry official identification in the form of a passport or identity card, and to contact the Indonesian Consulate General in LA hotline at +1 (213) 590-8095 if they need assistance.
