Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Criminal Investigation Agency has uncovered a drug laboratory in a luxury residential area in Bojongsoang, Bandung, believed to be preparing narcotics for distribution during New Year's Eve celebrations.
The INP Criminal Investigation Agency Deputy Head, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, confirmed on Thursday (12/12/2024) that the lab produced "happy water" and liquid drugs intended for sale primarily in Jakarta for the upcoming festivities.
Three suspects have been arrested, with another, identified only as A, still on the run, according to antaranews.com..
The arrested suspects are responsible for various roles: one as a liaison, another as the manufacturer, and the third as the packager.
During the raid, police seized over 7,500 packages of "happy water," 259 liters of flavored liquid vape, drug raw materials, and equipment such as crushers and chemical tools. Among the seized substances, three drums containing 3 liters of a clear liquid, confirmed to contain amphetamines, were also recovered.
The suspects face severe charges under the Narcotics Law, with penalties ranging from life imprisonment to the death penalty and hefty fines.
