inp.polri.go.id - Jombang. The opening of the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress at the Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java, on Thursday (August 27, 2026) was a lively affair and attended by a number of high-ranking state officials.

President Prabowo Subianto also attended the opening of the congress. Several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet were also present at this major event for the Islamic community organization.

The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and other police officers were also present to attend the opening of the 35th NU Congress.

The presence of these state officials attracted public attention. The enthusiasm came not only from the NU cadres in attendance, but also from the people of Jombang who had been awaiting the arrival of President Prabowo and other state officials.

As of 3:20 p.m., a number of high-ranking state officials were still arriving at the event.

Previously, the INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that securing the 2026 Nahdlatul Ulama Congress (NU) was part of their responsibility to ensure the safe, orderly, and smooth running of all events.

"Securing the 2026 Nahdlatul Ulama Congress is part of our obligation to ensure the smooth running of all events. We plan to deploy personnel as needed, including deploying personnel at locations deemed to require security," said General Sigit when met in Surabaya on Friday (8/28/2026).

Security will be adjusted to the needs on the ground, including at locations deemed to require special attention. This measure is expected to provide a sense of security for all participants, invited guests, and the public around the 35th NU Congress.
