inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The 2025 Riau Bhayangkara Run kicked off on Sunday morning (7/13/2025). In the event, the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo flagged-off the run, sending off the participants.

The flag-off took place at the starting line in front of the Riau Regional Police Headquarters in Pekanbaru City, Riau, at 6:00 a.m.

The Chief of Police conducted the flag-off for the 5K and 10K categories. Previously, the flag-off for the 21K category was conducted by the Chief of Riau Regional Police, Inspector General Herry, and Riau Governor Abdul Wahid.

A total of 13,079 runners were ready to run in this largest event in Sumatra. Thousands of participants were ready to start in front of the Riau Regional Police Headquarters in Pekanbaru City. Not only adults, but also children and even toddlers were ready to run to be the fastest.

There are three running categories in the 2025 Riau Bhayangkara Run, including the  21K (national and international), 10K, and 5K. 

Riau Regional Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan stated that this event is not only a celebration of Bhayangkara Day, but also a way to demonstrate to all of Indonesia that Riau is capable of hosting a national-scale event.

"Our goal is not only to celebrate Bhayangkara Day, but also to show all that we can pull off an event that is participated by more than 14,000 participants," said Herry Heryawan.
