INP Chief Grants Special Promotion to Brimob Officer in NTT

In recognition of the dedication and sacrifice during operations in Papua, Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has awarded a special promotion to Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officer Rani Yohanes Seran of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police.
His rank was promoted from First Police Inspector to Second Police Brigadier.
"This promotion is not just an individual achievement, but the result of exceptional dedication, loyalty, and service from every member," said Deputy Chief of NTT Police, Brigadier General Alwi Setiyono, during the promotion ceremony on Thursday (29/2/2024).
He highlighted the performance of Second Brigadier Seran, who served in the Damai Cartenz Task Force, demonstrating his remarkable performance in fulfilling her duties and responsibilities.
Deputy Chief Alwi recounted an incident where the Damai Cartenz Task Force came under gunfire from armed criminal groups (KKB) in Intan Jaya, Papua, on 21 November 2023, after completing crime scene investigations in Titigi District.
During the incident, Second Brigadier Seran sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg, while another member of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, Second Police Inspector Bonifasius Boy Djawa, lost his life.
Deputy Chief Alwi hoped that this special promotion would further instill confidence in Second Brigadier Seran to carry out his duties with resilience and quality.
He also emphasized the importance of continuous self-development, skill enhancement, and upholding ethics and integrity as a police officer.
This special promotion serves as motivation for Second Brigadiers Seran to remain committed, work diligently, and set an example for fellow police officers.
"Congratulations to Second Brigadier Rani Yohanes Seran on receiving this exceptional promotion today," Deputy Chief Alwi said, stressing the importance of upholding personal honor, family dignity, and the integrity of the police institution.
