The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo received the Traditional Memory Award from the Riau Malay Customary Institution (LAM Riau), in a solemn traditional procession at the LAM Riau Traditional Hall, Jalan Diponegoro, Pekanbaru, Saturday (7/12/2025).

The Chairman of the Riau LAM Daily Leadership Council (DPH), Datuk Seri Taufik Ikram Jamil, explained that this award is a form of deep respect for the moral values that are at the core of Malay culture.

In his address, Datuk Taufik emphasized that this award is not only an honor but also a token of appreciation for INP Chief's significant contribution to maintaining security and order in Indonesia, including in the Malay community of Riau.

According to him, General Sigit has contributed significantly to the country, particularly in Riau, through his efforts to handle forest and land fires, his humanistic approach to law enforcement, and the precise execution of strategic policies by the Riau Regional Police.

Datuk Taufik also singled out Riau Regional Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan for interpreting INP Chief's policies appropriately and effectively.

"The Riau Regional Police Chief is a leader who not only carries out his duties decisively but also with a humane touch. He is the face of the friendly and solution-oriented police among the Malay community of Riau," he said.

On the other hand, INP Chief expressed his gratitude and highest appreciation for the award. He interpreted it as a form of moral trust, as well as a reminder to ensure that INP's service remains grounded in noble values and sincerity.

"This award is a reminder that every step of service must be rooted in good character and noble values. This will foster goodness that will be remembered and felt by the community," said General Sigit.

He also emphasized the important role of culture in maintaining national identity, particularly in facing global challenges such as geopolitical conflict, the climate crisis, and technological disruption.
