Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Commander of the Indonesian Military General Agus Subiyanto, and Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, conducted an inspection of the preparation for Eid al-Fitr homecoming season at Purabaya Terminal in Surabaya, East Java, on Thursday (4/4/2024).
The high ranking state officials inspected the facilities at integrated and service posts in the terminal.
"In case of any complaints regarding potential criminal activities, there are service rooms available," Chief Sigit said.
He urged travelers and drivers to prioritize safety, whether traveling by private or public transport, particularly during the peak times.
"Given the higher accident rates in 2023 compared to other regions, it's crucial to ensure travelers' safety," Chief Sigit asserted.
He also urged police officers to maintain security in accident-prone areas, conduct socialization, and ensure proper rest areas to prevent fatigue-induced accidents.
"As we anticipate increased travel in the coming days, our officers are committed to providing the best service for a smooth and comfortable travel experience in 2024," Chief Sigit said.
