Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2024, police have initiated a contraflow system on the Jakarta-Cikampek section of the Trans Java Toll Road, spanning from kilometer 36 to kilometer 72 in Karawang, West Java, until 12 pm on April 11, 2024. This measure aimed to manage the anticipated surge in traffic during the holiday season, as confirmed by Senior Inspector Lucky Martono, Chief of the Traffic Police Unit of the Karawang Sub-regional Police, on Thursday (4/4/2024), according to antaranews.com. With Jasa Marga Trans Jawa toll road operator forecasting approximately 259,000 vehicles departing from Jakarta—a 66.8% increase from regular days—and around 300,000 vehicles returning to the city, marking a 131% rise in traffic, effective traffic management becomes imperative. To ensure smooth traffic flow, motor patrol teams have been deployed along the designated contraflow route. An open-close parking system will be implemented at the kilometer 57 rest area of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, allowing travelers a maximum of 30 minutes to park before continuing their journey.
