Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo delivered an academic address to new students during the Campus Life Orientation (PKKMB) program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) in Medan on Monday (28/9/2026).

Carrying the event theme "One Click, A Million Impacts" (Satu Klik, Sejuta Dampak), he highlighted rapid technological developments and artificial intelligence integration as defining dynamics for Indonesia's future workforce and national security.

"Rapid technological developments present complex challenges that require future leaders capable of adapting and contributing directly to society, the nation, and the state," he said.

The INP Chief noted that high social media engagement in Indonesia remains vulnerable to disinformation, hoaxes, deepfake manipulation, data theft, and phishing scams. He called on university students to serve as digital literacy pioneers who verify information, suppress online provocation, and maintain public order .

Looking ahead to Indonesia's demographic bonus window spanning 2030–2035 and the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045, Chief Sigit urged students to leverage academic culture, entrepreneurship, and technical competence to drive sustainable economic growth.

"The year 2045 will be your stage to prove your leadership for Indonesia," he concluded.
