inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) reaffirmed its commitment to creating an inclusive institution through the Proactive Recruitment of Persons with Disabilities program, which has been running for the past few years and is strengthened by the recently passed Police Bill.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of INP, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, emphasized that the police provide equal opportunities for persons with disabilities to serve the nation and state.
He explained that during the selection process, INP applies the principles of fairness and inclusivity by making adjustments to the disability of the applicant without compromising the competency standards required to carry out police duties.
Regarding disabilities that have been eligible for INP recruitment, individuals with certain physical disabilities are eligible to perform their duties according to the competency and position requirements of the organization.
Some categories that have been recruited include amputees, paraplegics, paraplegia, and cerebral palsy with mild disabilities who are still able to carry out activities independently.
The two-star police general also stated that the placement of personnel with disabilities is based on competency, educational background, and organizational needs.
"They can serve in functions that prioritize administrative skills, analysis, public service, information technology, health, or other supporting fields relevant to their abilities," he said.
Regarding the number or percentage of future recruitment, he stated that INP is still reviewing and adjusting to the organization's needs and applicable regulatory developments.
