The Indonesian National Police (INP) Security Maintenance Agency Chief Commissioner General Mohammad Fadil Imran appreciates the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum in South Sulawesi who managed to maintain province safe situation. Fadil is determined that South Sulawesi, particularly Makassar City, as the security barometer for the Eastern part of Indonesia. The decision is also in accordance with to the instruction from the president, which the development and establishment of Police technology, then the system and the method practice must be balanced. “Now I have seen a city outside Java Island that is vast and crowded with people, which is Makassar City. And that is also the reason why we choose Makassar City,” said Fadil after opening the Uniformed Regular Police Corps National Working Meeting on Tuesday (3/5/2024). In Makassar City, there is also Patrol Shelter of Perintis Presisi which has various facitilites such as equipment checklist room, problem solving room, medical room, CCTV room, meeting room, policewoman room, and workshop room. The shelter is functioned to combat and prevent crimes such as illegal race and street crimes. “We have Presisi City Patrol Program and Perintis Presisi Patrol from the INP Chief which designed to further strengthen police presence amidst the public,” said Fadil. Furthermore, Fadil endorsed that through the shelter, police presence would be felt even stronger as it stationed near the communities. Their service has also been modernized and digitalized so they could respond much faster and serve much better. Fadil says that this shelter program would become the pilot project for other regional polices across Indonesia. “In big cities around the world, patrol vehicles have their own shelter as the vehicle were also maintained to its best performance. In determining the target and routes of patrol are also far more advanced as they are well managed and well treated. Moreover, their police service has also improved with how advanced their system are. Through all of this, they can meet their security index are easily,” explained Fadil. (ad/rz/pr/nm)
