Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police  (INP) reinforced proactive wildfire prevention measures by deploying 322 officers under the Second Wave Wildfire Education, Counseling, and Prevention Task Force across South Sumatra, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan on Monday (&/9/2026).

Comprising 64 Sespimti, 207 Sespimmen, and 29 SPPK managerial trainees along with 22 supervisors, the team will undergo a 10-day field assignment focused on community-based early detection and educational outreach.

INP Deputy e Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo instructed officers to prioritize humanist, persuasive dialogue over reactive legal enforcement.

"Preventing wildfires requires active community participation," he said during the operational send-off in Jakarta. "Officers must listen to grass-roots communities, collaborate with local leaders and Fire-Aware Community (MPA) groups, and turn citizens into key partners in fire prevention."

The deployment ensures continuous field presence, building upon the initial 189 officers previously deployed to vulnerable provinces.
