Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.The Indonesian National Police (INP) expressed deep condolences on Tuesday (3/2/2026) following the death of Meriyati Roeslani Hoegeng, the widow of the legendary former INP Chief General (ret.) Hoegeng Iman Santoso. 

Meriyati passed away at the age of 100 due to illness at 1.24 pm. Her husband, General Hoegeng, remains an iconic figure in Indonesia, renowned for his uncompromising integrity and simplicity.

"The entire police family offers our deepest sympathies. May she rest in peace (husnul khatimah)," said Inspector General Johnny Edison Isir, the INP Head of Public Relations Division, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Born in Yogyakarta in 1925, Meriyati married Hoegeng in 1946 and stood by him throughout his storied career. Her remains were at the family home in Mekarjaya, Depok, and she is scheduled to be laid to rest at the Giri Tama Cemetery in Bogor on Wednesday afternoon.
