Inp.polri.go.id - Depok. The Depok Metropolitan Sub-regional Police confirmed that 10 senior high schools in Depok, West Java, received bomb threats on Tuesday evening (23/12/2025), prompting immediate security sweeps by counterterrorism units.
The threats were reported to authorities after schools received alarming messages via email, raising concern among students, teachers, and parents.
“Yes, it is true, sweeps are currently being carried out, and so far no explosive devices have been found,” said Depok Police Head of Public Relations Unit Assistant Senior Inspector Made Budi, as reported by antaranews.com.
The searches involved the Gegana Bomb Squad of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Mobile Brigade and officers from Depok Police. Six schools have been fully inspected, while examinations at four other locations remain ongoing. The affected schools include SMA Arrahman, SMA Al Mawaddah, SMAN 4 Depok, SMA PGRI 1, SMA Bintara Depok, SMA Budi Bakti, SMA Cakra Buana, SMA 7 Sawangan, SMA Nururrahman, and SMAN 6 Depok.
Police said the threats were unproven but investigations continue to identify the sender and motive, while ensuring school safety.
