Inp.polri.go.id - Cirebon. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has called on all elements of society to work together in protecting both public and digital spaces to maintain national stability and unity.
Speaking at the Nahdlatul Ulama youth wing’s Banser National Assembly for Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 security preparations in Cirebon, West Java, on Tuesday (23/12/2025), he said rapid advances in digital technology bring both benefits and risks. While digital platforms make communication easier, they also open space for disinformation and misinformation that can undermine social cohesion.
“If not addressed wisely, these developments can disrupt national stability and weaken unity,” Chief Sigit said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He explained such challenges must be addressed collectively by all stakeholders by strengthening digital literacy and safeguarding public discourse.
The event mobilized more than 11,000 Banser personnel from West and Central Java to support security operations during the year-end holiday period.
