INP Provides Health Services to Rempang Residents

Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has provided essential health services to residents of Cate, Rempang, Galang, and Simpang Sembulang villages in Batam City, Riau Islands. The outreach also extended to Titian Kasih Nursing Home and Tunas Karya Sembulang Foundation. Headed by Police Senior Superintendent Dr. Muhammad Haris, who leads the Medical and Health Sector at Riau Islands Regional Police, and Dr. Rr. Novita Wahyu Handayani, Head of Batam Bhayangkara Hospital, these healthcare services provided direct services to the community. The services encompassed comprehensive health assessments, general treatments, and basic laboratory tests for cholesterol, blood sugar, and uric acid levels. Additionally, participants received valuable health education to heighten awareness about the importance of maintaining good health. Medicines and vitamins were also distributed to contribute to overall public health. He emphasized that this outreach exemplified Riau Islands Regional Police's dedication to the health and well-being of Rempang Island's residents. "I hope that through this health service endeavor, we can consistently deliver the best health care to the people of Riau Islands. We hope our endeavors to raise health awareness and provide appropriate medical attention will positively impact the community's quality of life, while also strengthening the bond between the police and the community in the pursuit of a healthier and more prosperous society," he stated on Wednesday (20/9/23). In another effort, Riau Islands Regional Police organized trauma healing sessions at SDN 034 and SMP 22, where a total of 120 primary school students and 157 middle school students eagerly participated in the activities. The activities ranged from group play, singing, prize-based games, vitamin distribution, to health assessments for the students of both schools. The hope is that their enthusiasm for engaging in these activities will inspire them to continue their education and become future leaders of the nation. Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, Head of Public Affairs at the INP, explained that providing social assistance underscores the INP's commitment to enhancing community welfare, aligning with the directives of the Chief of INP. "I hope that this activity will offer assistance and benefit the community," he said. The General further revealed that the Riau Islands Regional Police conducted door-to-door visits to address concerns and collaboratively find solutions for the Rempang community and also carried out outreach regarding the Rempang Eco-City development plan. During this visit, information was shared regarding their relocation to a government-prepared site. This initiative involved various stakeholders, including the Directorate for the Security of Vital Objects (Dit Pamobvit) of the Riau Islands Regional Police, represented by Police Senior Inspector R. Sudiyono and Police Senior Inspector Tuti Elfi. Also participating were the Galang Sub-Regional Police, with representatives from the Security and Social Affairs of the Galang Sub-Sector Police Senior Brigadier E. Juliansyah, as well as a representative from the Indonesian Military Press. "This effort aims to provide the community with a clear understanding of the relocation process ahead and offer basic food assistance as a genuine expression of concern from the Riau Islands Regional Police for the welfare of the affected communities," he stated. He expressed his hope that a mutually agreeable solution will emerge as the primary way forward. He also urged the public not to be swayed by potentially misinformation, emphasizing how misinformation can tarnish reputations, incite chaos, and have serious repercussions on society. "By being discerning in how we communicate and share information, we can collectively combat the spread of false information and foster a safer and more efficient cyberspace for everyone," he concluded.
