Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has withdrawn a high-ranking officer from a ministerial post following a recent Constitutional Court ruling that prohibits active police personnel from holding civilian positions.
The decision complies with Constitutional Court Ruling No. 114/PUU-XXIII/2025, issued on 14 November 2025.
“The INP has recalled Inspector General Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to return to the force for career development,” said INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Bureau Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko on Thursday (20/1/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.
He explained that placements outside the police organization were previously carried out through formal requests from ministries or institutions requiring the INP expertise. However, to implement the new ruling, INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has established a working group (Pokja) to formulate legal and operational adjustments.
The working group will coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to prevent misinterpretation, Chief Trunoyudo added, stressing that compliance with the binding legal decision reflects Polri’s commitment to upholding constitutional principles.
The ruling requires active officers seeking civilian roles to resign or retire from the force.
