Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) is finalizing the transformation of the Police Science College (STIK) into the Police University (Unipol), a strategic move aimed at advancing police science and modernization.
"Transforming, studying, and developing police science is a necessity for officers to remain proactive and effective problem-solvers in a rapidly changing world," said senior lecturer Commissioner General Dr. Chryshnanda Dwilaksana during a seminar at the STIK Building in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.
The transformation is currently awaiting formal authorization. According to Inspector General Eko Rudi Sudarto, the Chairman of STIK, the project is progressing through the "initiative permit" stage with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. Once finalized, the university's establishment will be formalized through a Presidential Decree (Perpres).
He said that the INP is committed to building a more academic and analytical foundation for its personnel, ensuring they serve as "guardians of civilization" through high-quality, science-based public service.
