Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police (INP) uncovered an illegal shipment of candy containing delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a type of narcotics, originating from the United Kingdom.
"Lab tests confirmed the candy contained delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol," said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, the Director of Narcotics Crimes i, on Wednesday (26/8/2026). "The suspect admitted to ordering the shipment online under an alias."
Authorities arrested a 30-year-old suspect, identified as AJE, on Monday, in Malang, East Java, shortly after receiving the package sent via PT Pos Indonesia. Police seized three packages of THC candy, 12 THC-infused chocolates, a mobile phone, and a laptop.
The total seized narcotics weighed 231 grams gross, valued at approximately Rp 693 million. The suspect faces charges under Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics and Law No. 1/2026 on Penal Adjustments.
