inp.polri.go.id – Three soldiers were killed and seven others were injured after Israel launched airstrikes to Syrian military sites on Friday (22/7) morning.
"The enemy, Israel, launched air strikes from the Syrian Golan. The aggression killed three soldiers and injured seven others," the Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Syrian Defense Ministry also said that they had intercepted several missiles.
The war monitoring agency, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said three more people were killed and the total injured was 10. They also said the Israeli strikes targeted an air force intelligence facility, the offices of high-ranking officers, and a car near the Mezzah military airport.
"(The missile also) destroyed an Iranian weapons depot," the agency said.
Israeli attacks on Syria happened so many times. In June, Tel Aviv bombed Damascus International Airport. As a result of this attack, the airport runway could not be used for weeks.
According to the monitoring agency, the attack actually targeted a nearby warehouse that Iran and Hezbollah used as a weapons warehouse.
The conflict in Syria began when peacefull rally was responded by the brutal repression of the Assad government in 2011. The clashes then escalated and became civil war.
The war has killed nearly half a million people and forced nearly half of Syria's population out from their homes.
The incident later attracted foreign powers and global jihadists, including Israel.
Since then, Israel has frequently attacked its neighbors. They targeted the government's military and allied forces backed by Iran and Hezbollah.
The Israeli military said the move was to prevent Iran from entering the country.
Iran is said to be supplying weapons and military trainers to Syria secretly. Recently, their help continued to grow.
