inp.polri.go.id – The North Kalimantan Regional Police have disclosed the smuggling of methamphetamine by forming a joint team led by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of North Kalimantan Police, the Chief of North Kalimantan Propam Division, the Head of the Nunukan Police, and the East Sebatik Police at Malaysia border area.
The Press Release, which was held at the Selasar Building B of the Kaltara Police Headquarters, was led directly by the North Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya. He was accompanied by the Regional Superintendent of North Kalimantan Police, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of North Kalimantan Police, Director of Drugs Investigation Unit, the Chief of North Kalimantan Propam Division, Head of Public Relations of North Kalimantan Police, and the Head of Nunukan Police.
The perpetrators who were arrested were three people who each of them have different roles. Initially, the perpetrators, IH and ND, received an offer from EZ, a Malaysian citizen who was in Tawau Malaysia, to deliver packages of drugss to to Bambangan Sebatik Nunukan and then continued to Palu.
Fortunately, (ND) was arrested shortly after entering the territory of Indonesia. The perpetrator entered the territory of Indonesia with five sacks, who ND initially said were just a food supplies. However, after an examination, the sacks that ND brought was methamphetamine, which he packed with a guan yin wang tea package. Then ND stated the name of his two colleagues to the police after being examined
The suspects will be charged with Article 112 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (2) Sub Article 114 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (2) Law 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a minimum penalty of five years in prison and capital punishment as the maximum penalty.
