Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Friday (13/2/2026) that the upcoming Developing Eight (D-8) Summit in Jakarta will host a dedicated special session on Palestine.
Tri Tharyat, the Director General for Multilateral Cooperation, confirmed that the high-level meeting scheduled for April 2026 aims to solidify economic and humanitarian support for the Palestinian people amid ongoing regional shifts.
"This special session serves as a collective manifestation of solidarity from all D-8 member states for our brothers and sisters in Palestine," he said during a media briefing, as cited by antaranews.com.
While Indonesia, Turkey, and Egypt remain active members of the Board of Peace (BoP), the Ministry clarified that the controversial council will not be discussed during the formal summit.
Instead, the D-8 forum will prioritize its core mandate of economic development and intra-trade resilience. Under Indonesia’s 2026–2027 chairmanship, the summit is expected to culminate in a joint declaration reaffirming the bloc’s political and economic stance on the Palestinian cause.
