Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police urged the community to ensure security and public order post-2024 General Election. "We're asking residents to activate neighborhood watch posts and play an active role in maintaining peace, especially during the 2024 General Election," said Senior Superintendent Badya Wijaya, Director of Community Relations at the Metro Jaya Police, on Sunday (3/3/2024). He expected residents to take turns operating these posts and require visitors to report to their local neighborhood unit (RT) or community unit (RW) within 24 hours. "Our goal with these watch posts is to reduce theft and other disruptions to public order," Chief Badya said. He advised the public to be discerning about the news they consume, distinguishing between what is true and beneficial and what could cause disturbances and unrest. "After the 2024 General Election, we urge the public to use social media wisely. Let's not allow social harmony to be disrupted by provocative hoax news," Chief Badya added.
