Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A total of 332 joint security personnel were deployed to oversee a peaceful demonstration in support of Palestine held outside the United States Embassy on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, Sunday morning (20/4/2025).

The rally, organized by the Indonesian Youth Alliance for Palestine and the Indonesian Muslim Student Alliance (AMMI), drew hundreds of participants waving Palestinian flags.

Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police Chief Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro confirmed the deployment and emphasized the non-violent approach. 

“No officers are equipped with firearms. We prioritize a humane and professional approach in facilitating public expression,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Authorities reminded speakers to avoid provocative language and encouraged demonstrators to remain orderly throughout the event.

Traffic on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan was regulated situationally, and police advised the public to seek alternative routes to avoid congestion near Monas.
