Inp.polri.go.id - Tabang. Joint forces from the Tabang Police Office, military soldiers, local administration, and firefighters extinguished a one-hectare wildfire along the Sidomulyo–Sungai Lunuk route in Tabang District, East Kalimantan, early Saturday (5/9/ 2026).

The fire broke out at 12.55 am local time,  burning brushwood, trees, and dry foliage. Nine joint personnel deployed one fire engine and drew water from a local resident’s pond one kilometer away after initial water supplies ran out.

The team conducted gradual fire fighting and swept the area to ensure all embers were completely extinguished. The blaze was contained by 2.50 am.

The Tabang Police Criminal Investigation Unit launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, while police officers maintain routine monitoring across the affected site to prevent reignition.
