Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief (Kapolri) Cup Badminton Championship 2024 officially began on Monday (22/7/2024) UNJ Stadirum and Pulogadung Stadium in Jakarta. 

Featuring a lively parade of teams and athletes, the event was directly inaugurated by the INP Head of Security Maintenance Agency Commissioner General Fadil Imran.

Organizing Committee Chair Inspector General o Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono announced that it is the first edition of the tournament, held to commemorate the 78th anniversary of Bhayangkari and promote badminton in Indonesia. 

The championship is a collaborative effort between the INP and the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), featuring participants from both police personnel and trained athletes, according to antaranews.com.

The tournament, running from 22 to 27 July 2024, includes 64 teams from the INP work units and 28 teams from regional police across Indonesia. Each team comprises six players, totaling 552 police personnel and 480 youth athletes aged 15, 17, and 19.

Competitions will cover five events: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. Winners will receive certificates and medals.
