inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. National Police Chief General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., monitored 5,703 vaccine acceleration in 34 provinces of Indonesia. While monitoring the program, he was also going to the Grand Haji Delanggu Building, Klaten Regency, Central Java (Central Java), Saturday (12/3/2022). In his review, the National Police Chief appreciates the enthusiasm of the community to take part in the third dose vaccination. This is also supported by the hard work and cooperation of the Central Java Forkopimda and Klaten, which continue to optimize the acceleration of vaccinations. "Thank god, in this program, approximately 2,500 vaccine targets have been achieved. Most of them have already asked for the third dose. This is certainly encouraging news. We continue to encourage Central Java, especially people of Klaten, to be vaccinated so they have the immunity against Delta, Omicron, or other variants," stated the National Police Chief in his review. The former head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police stated that the acceleration of the third dose was also carried out and optimized in all provinces of Indonesia. The National Police Chief explained that with the optimization of Booster, the immunity of the community against all types of Covid-19 variants would increase much greater. "For those who have had the second dose of vaccine three months ago or more, please get your Booster vaccine. This is because medical science or theoretical experts said that the third dose can increase immunity above 91%, while the second dose can provide immunity only above 71%. With the third dose, people will have better immunity against coronavirus," explained the former Banten Police Chief. Furthermore, ahead of the holy month of Ramadhan, the National Police Chief emphasized to all Forkopimda in Indonesia, to be more intensive in optimizing the acceleration of vaccinations. According to the National Police Chief, all preparation and anticipation must be prepared to ensure that the people are in a good health and has immunity against the coronavirus. That way, the spiking case of Covid-19 can be prevented despite an increase in social interaction. "Of course, we have to do it. Soon, we will enter the holy month of Ramadhan, and the activity, interaction, and mobility of the community will become much higher. And by the end of the month, most of them also want to go out of town to meet their loved ones. Like it or not, we have to be ready. If the people’s activity really goes back to normal, we have to make sure that they have good immunity, so we can really control the rate of Covid-19," explained the National Police Chief. The National Police Chief also presented the data from the Ministry of Health regarding vaccination achievements on a national scale. The data showed that Indonesia has 92.62% for the first dose and 72.16% for the second dose. For the third dose, Indonesia was only able to reach 6.46%. While in Central Java, the data shows that the first dose has reached 91.36%, the second dose was at 77.34%, and the Booster was at 7.3%. For the Klaten area, the first dose was 91.76%, the second dose was 86.48% and the third dose was 9.48%. "These figures are quite good because in general, we are still pursuing 70% for the second dose in other regions, while in Klaten it is already 86%. Thank you to the Regent, the Head of Police, and also the Dandim for continuing to boost the program. Of course, we will always monitor this figure. The surging of the case has also now been decreased even though it is still at 1.09 respectively, but this is much better than the last week," explained the National Police Chief. With these good numbers, the National Police Chief asked all relevant stakeholders and the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols in daily activities. He emphasized all parties should not be negligent and careless in the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic. "Of course, we hope that it will be good news for all of us. To maintain this, we still have to wear masks even though we have had been vaccinated. Because this is part of our efforts to control the pandemic so that the case of Covid-19 can really be restrained as much as possible so that it does not go high," said the National Police Chief. Other than monitoring, the National Police Chief also made offers and held a dialogue with all Forkopimda throughout Indonesia. Sigit heard and provided input regarding the obstacles that occurred in the context of handling and controlling the Covid-19 Pandemic.
