The National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, once again inspected the return flow of Eid 2022 and the implementation of one-way traffic engineering at the KM 70 Cikampek Utama (Cikatama) Toll Road, Saturday (7/5/2022) night. "We just reviewed and held a meeting to see the developments of the return flow, especially on KM 70 of Cikatama Toll Road," Sigit said during his direct inspection. Based on his direct review, Sigit revealed that the volume of vehicles continues to increase until now. Based on reports, it is predicted that night the number of passing vehicles had reached 160,000 per hour, and will continue to increase until tomorrow. "Obviously these numbers are our concern. Then in Kalikangkung we also see an increase from 15.00, 16.00, to 17.00 WIB, the number continues to rise above 5,000. So we predicted there will be an impact six or seven hours later in the Cikatama area. Therefore, we will evaluate the fluctuations of these numbers together," said the former Police Criminal Investigation Officer. With the significant increase in the volume of vehicles, Sigit stated that it is likely that the traffic policy strategy for the one-way scheme will be extended in terms of time and roads. "There is a possibility that a one-way system will be extended, and it will be conveyed in detail by the Head of Traffic Coordinator. This step has to be taken due to the figures that we have seen lately. Then for the one-way system at KM 28 to KM 3,500 in Halim, will be adjusted according to the conditions in the field," said Sigit. Even so, Sigit emphasized, that the step will be taken by adjusting the situation and conditions that occur every time. Thus, the extension of the policies will still see the dynamics of traffic flow that develops in the field. Furthermore, Sigit also appealed to the public to continue to update to the latest information about the traffic engineering strategy policies implemented by the police to prevent overcrowding and relieve congestion.
