Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. After a fire broke out in the densely populated area of Kemayoran Gempol, Kebon Kosong, Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/1/2025) around 1.15 am, some victims have been temporarily relocated to the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police headquarters.
Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Head of Public Relations Ade Ary Syam Indradi said on Tuesday (21/1/2025) that women and children among the displaced people are being accommodated at the station’s emergency shelter.
"We are providing immediate assistance to those affected, prioritizing the needs of women and children," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Preliminary reports indicate that the fire destroyed 543 homes, impacting 607 families and around 1,797 people.
The blaze, which affected 11 neighborhood units in Kebon Kosong, has left many residents homeless. Emergency shelters have been set up at Al-Hasanah Mosque and Baiturrahman Mosque for those displaced.
