Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo announced on Friday (5/12/2025) that several strategic transport routes in Aceh have become functional again after severe floods and landslides disrupted access across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
“Restoring transport connectivity is the government’s top priority before moving into rehabilitation and reconstruction,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com.
According to the Aceh National Road Implementation Agency, major routes, including Banda Aceh–Meureudu and Batas Kota Lhokseumawe–Kota Langsa, are now passable, with sediment clearing ongoing.
Additional sections such as Kota Langsa–Kota Kuala Simpang and Kota Kuala Simpang–North Sumatra Border have reopened to all vehicles, supported by heavy equipment.
Mountain routes like Genting Gerbang–Celala–Aceh Tengah/Nagan Raya and Simpang Uning–Uwaq–Blangkejeren are open to motorcycles, with preparations underway for four-wheel access.
The Water Resources Agency has also restored access in Aceh Tamiang by deploying heavy machinery to clear mud and debris while distributing aid to affected residents.
