inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat urged the Indonesian paralympic athletes who excelled at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games to maintain their winning mentality for the upcoming Asian Para Games.

"The competition is even tougher going forward, with the Asian Para Games. Please, maintain your spirit so you can continue to excel and bring honor to our nation," said Taufik Hidayat while welcoming the Indonesian Paralympic Athletes at Adi Soemarmo Airport, Boyolali, Wednesday (1/28/2026).

The Indonesian contingent took home second place in the 2025 ASEAN Para Games, winning 135 gold, 143 silver, and 114 bronze medals. Taufik commended the athletes for their record-breaking achievements at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand, which are crucial for advancing to higher levels of competition.

"This achievement is a good start for the athletes to advance to the next level," said the Vice Minister. 

He noted that athletes with disabilities have been a great inspiration to the Indonesian people. With their limitations, they are able to prove themselves through achievements at the international level.

"We must emulate their enthusiasm. Their tenacity is what makes us continue motivating them. Their fighting spirit is extraordinary," said Vice Minister Taufik.

On that occasion, Taufik also reiterated the government's commitment to improving coaching and providing better facilities for athletes.
