Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In a significant development, Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police officially named Firli Bahuri, the Chairman of  Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), as a suspect in an alleged extortion case involving former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo on Wednesday (23/11/2023) night. The decision to designate FB as a suspect comes after a comprehensive review of the case on Wednesday, revealing substantial evidence, antaranews.com reported. Senior Superintendent Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Director of Special Criminal Investigation  at the Jakarta Police, disclosed that the charges against the KPK Chief encompass corruption offenses like extortion, acceptance of gratuities, or receiving gifts or promises related to his public position. Director Ade shared with reporters at Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday night, "His designation as a suspect is based on Article 12e or Article 12B or Article 11 of Law No. 31/1999 on the eradication of corruption, as amended and supplemented by Law No. 20/2001 on changes to Law No. 31/1999 on the eradication of corruption, in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. These alleged offenses occurred within the jurisdiction of the Jakarta Police from around 2020 to 2023."
