Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officially dropped all legal proceedings against Hasto Kristiyanto, the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), after he received presidential amnesty from President Prabowo Subianto.
“With the amnesty granted, the legal process against Hasto has been terminated,” said Asep Guntur Rahayu, KPK’s Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, on Friday (1/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The KPK confirmed no new investigation orders would be issued. Hasto was released from detention the same day.
The Jakarta Anti-Corruption Court previously acquitted Hasto of obstruction of justice in the Harun Masiku bribery case, but found him guilty of bribery and sentenced him to 3.5 years in prison and a fine of Rp 250 million, linked to a Rp400 million payment intended to influence a parliamentary seat replacement.
Asep emphasized that amnesty, like pardon and abolition, remains a presidential prerogative, and is exercised after thorough review and consultation Indonesia’s House of Representatives (DPR).
