Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Drug Investigation Directorate of Lampung Regional Police successfully uncovered a drug case with the evidence of 30 kg methamphetamine. The Director of Drug Investigation Unit of Lampung Regional Police, Grand Commissioner Erling Tangjaya says that the 30 kg methamphetamine was secured from two suspects who acts as the courier on 14th August, 2023 at 10:00 WIB. The discovery began when police was suspicious with Toyota Innova car with the plate number of B 1789 NYZ. Police then approach the car and immediately inspect it. “During the inspection, we found that the 30 kg of methamphetamine was hid in several parts of the car. The drugs were meant to be delivered to Jakarta by courier with the initials of MN (23) and MS (36). They are from Aceh,” said Erling in a conference press on Thursday (9/14/2023). Currently the case is still under investigation whether the drug is from the prison or not. From the initial information, the two couriers were paid IDR 12 million for their service, with a down payment of IDR 5 million. “By uncovering the case, we have successfully saved around 120 people from methamphetamine who has the value of IDR 45,000,000,” he said. For their criminal action, the perpetrators will be charged with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with the threat of the death penalty.
