inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas stated that village and sub-district legal aid posts will become role models for mediation-based law enforcement collaboration that culminates in restorative justice.

"The legal aid post is designed as a space for resolving cases through mediation before proceeding to formal legal channels. This scheme is expected to strengthen public access to justice while reducing conflict escalation at the village and sub-district levels," explained Andi on Thursday (5/21/2026).

The Ministry of Law is implementing the program in collaboration with the Ministry of Villages, the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia, and local governments throughout Indonesia.

Going forward, the legal aid post will also be integrated with other law enforcement and security programs, including the Attorney General's Office's Jaga Desa program, the Bhabinkamtibmas program of the Indonesian National Police (INP), and the Babinsa program of the Indonesian Military

"We will ensure that these legal aid post programs are synergized with all elements of the state," he said.

Andi stated that approximately 83,980 village and sub-district legal aid posts have been established throughout Indonesia. 

This program is part of the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita mission to strengthen political, legal, and bureaucratic reforms through equal access to justice.

He also stated that his office will coordinate with the Ministry of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia to consolidate legal aid services across ministries so that they are integrated through the legal aid post already established in villages and sub-districts.
