inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian appeals to the regional government to plan the steps on anticipating the surge of visitors ahead of 2025 Eid Al-fitr.

"Because every mobility challenge, whether land, sea, air, is different from one region to another," said the Minister of Home Affairs, Monday (2/17/2025).

He explained the challenges of each region in dealing with the mobility of the homecoming flow. For example, the regions of Java, Sumatra, Bali, and Sulawesi need to focus on handling the homecoming flow on land routes.

Similar things also need to be done by other regions that rely on sea and air transportation. Local governments need to ensure that the routes are in good condition and can be passed by travelers, including encouraging transportation ticket prices such as planes not to increase too high and have an impact on inflation.

In order to support the smooth flow of homecoming, the Minister of Home Affairs has issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 400.6.1/749/SJ concerning the Readiness of Regional Governments in Supporting the 2025 Eid Homecoming Flow. The letter, which was directed to all regional heads, was signed by the Minister of Home Affairs on February 17, 2025.

Through the Circular, the Minister of Home Affairs directed regional heads to take steps related to the readiness of the transportation system, supporting infrastructure, security, and public order. This includes mitigating disaster risks, as well as providing other supporting services.

"We ask all regions to support the steps of the central government's policies, especially from the Minister of Transportation," added the Minister of Home Affairs.

On the other hand, he also asked the local government to check the condition of all transportation fleets both on land, sea, and air. The local government also needs to act when it finds infrastructure that needs repair as it is the responsibility of the local government.

Not only that, the local government also needs to ensure that transportation managers can pay attention to safety, such as the availability of life jackets on sea, river, and lake transportation.
